The Accelerating Innovation
Foundation presented last fall’s Accelerating
Innovation Conference on September 26, 2006 at the National Academies. The critical conference centered on the role of technological innovation in economic development in the mid-Atlantic region, nationwide, and globally. Participants were able to combine their thoughts and ideas with others, listen
to panel discussions and visionary speakers, and network with high-level public and private
sector leaders.
The meeting provided a regional perspective on national innovation policy by exploring the global and national landscape of technology development and commerce in a "flattening" world, and by providing a forum to discuss how local and regional resources can be used to spur innovation and improve competitiveness.
